Outfit of the Day: Peachy Keen

Felt just peachy keen in this peachy pink outfit with another touch of neon.  I got a new piece of neon and love it.

A little bit of ruffle, a bit of sparkle and a neon belt...

All in a days work!

These jellies are getting a work out this summer.

The sky even went a little bit pink:
We've been having super weird storms lately and this was right before another.

Gray sparkle shirt - Forever21 (last worn here)
Cardi - J.Crew
Belt - Filene's basement in DC (Brand - Candies) and reminds me of J.Crew's, for less!

Outfit of the Day: Stripes on Stripes

Last spring, after stripes were popping up everywhere and paried with other patterns, like florals - I also saw how to wear a striped bottom and striped top and couldn't wait to do that!  My love for stripes continues, I guess...

So my take of stripes on stripes:

My white skirt with black stripes meshed perfectly with my black top with white stripes. Almost looked like a dress.  The stretchy band at the top of the skirt broke up the stripes a bit.

My new shoes!  I got these at Marshall's - they are by Nine West and I love the jeweled tops.

Total Outfit Deets:
Top - The Limited, hammy down from friend
Skirt - H&M from Washington DC
Necklace - Forever21
Shoes - Nine West, similar here

Favorite Blogger Outfit: Summer Chic

This week's favorite blogger outfits were between Saltwater Dreams and well, Saltwater Dreams.  I loved 2 of her outfits a ton.  But in the end I chose this chic summer outfit.  I also loooove the blue with the shimmery striped tank:

Perfect for work or night, weekday or weekend.

Her Outfit Deets:
black & white striped tank: J. Crew
tulip skirt: Mossimo for Target
necklace: vintage
black studded belt: J. Crew, black heels: Steve Madden

And if you are curious as to the other outfit I loved.... click it's the first version, here!

Shoe of the Day - Olivia's BCBGirl Heels!

Miss. Olivia Palermo actually stepped out of her high designer heels and into a pair of BCBGs?! And BCBG GIRLS at that!  Well, I like to see that, especially from her.  She definately needs to come down to earth sometimes...

Find out more about her outfit via Vogue's What I Wore blog, here.

Anyways, these heels are so fun, and YELLOW! I love yellow! Unfortunately, they're hard to find and virtually sold out...

BCBGirls Famous Heel - Canary
Found sizes 6.5, 7, 7.5 and 10 (sadly, not my size) for $109 here.

Dress for Less: Criss-Cross Heels

Platform criss-cross heels, either one of these can take you straight into fall!  But the price tag is quite different for these two pairs: $215 vs. $30.

Another Carrie Inspiration: Outfit of the Day

Carrie inspiration from one SATC movie (flower bomber jacket posted about earlier) to the next, on to the 2nd!  I loved many of her outfits in the 2nd movie, as I've posted a lot about already, but one I was excited to try myself:

the long top over an A-line skirt

I took my own spin and did this look for night:
Excuse the tan like (white shoulder glaring out of the shirt)

Outfit deets:
Top - I won this Elizabeth and James shirt almost a year ago!
Skirt - Alena Anthro Skirt in blush pink on Sale
Wedges - Coach loves I scored a bit ago
Belt - Urban sale years ago - it's a cumber-bun! Also worn here.
Clutch - Pink bow New York and Company

Channeling Carrie's Flower Bomber Jacket via American Apparel

aka longest title ever. Sorry.

Anyways - have you been to American Apparel lately?  The girls and I stopped there (after H&M, of course) in DC and loved (in theory) the 3-D Flower Mesh top.

It's so cute, right?!  Here it is styled in store on a manaquin:
Comfy!

And me in it...
Not as cute... a little frumpy.  Maybe with the right bottoms (wearing it over a dress), but wasn't for my bod - but gosh I wanted it to work. It's pretty heavy, but mesh, so breezy.

Um, and doesn't remind you of  Miss Carrie Bradshaw's amazing flower bomber jacket in the 1st Sex and the City Movie.  She wore it to see Charlotte in the hospital after giving birth:

So who is going to get this American Apparel top and rock it for me?  Because my friends all failed me and no one got it.  I need someone to do it and send me a pic on how you wear it!

Thanks,
Meggy

Shoe of the Day: IRL Aldo Summer Booty Wedges

Last week's shoe of the day, summer booties were put to work in Washington, D.C. this past weekend.  I wore them to fly there from KC and an evening around.  I walked about 1.5 miles in them - and they felt great!

Here they are again:
And here they are on my feet!

And my quick flying outfit:

J.Crew Striped Top
NYD's Jeans
Aldo Wedges

When I fly, I wear minimal jewelry so I don't loose any when having to take it off for the metal detectors and even though it's hot summer time, I wear a bit more clothing because I'm always freezing on the planes!

Favorite Blogger Outfit: Better Late Than Never

Sorry for the delay in my posting this week.  I've been a crazy traveler (if you're following my tweets, you probably figured that out already)!

This outfit, as many of Slastena's styles are, is very classic, flattering, stylish and polished.  I love anything gray and am realllllly into statement necklaces right now (as seen here, here and oh, here and here).  I love the necklace (from Banana Republic) she's wearing!

I love how Slastena from About All and Nothing At All shows the outfit pieced together and then IRL:

And best yet.  Here outfit deets are available via Polyvor with links directly to the pieces.

Stylish!

I am LOVING the Silver Lining Dress from Anthropologie that I got on sale!  Currently only $70 and well worth it!  This pretty dress is uber comfy, easy to go from day to night and unique with the scalloped edges and metallic sheen.

This dress first made my wish list I updated in the spring, and patience paid off as I waited for it to go on sale.

I got J.Crew's drawstring chambray pier shorts a few weeks ago and have been living in them since.  I come home from work and immediately run to my room to change into them and a t-shirt, and bum around all weekend in these lightweight dreams.  I just had to share my option... and this is coming from a girl that HATES shorts.  Come summer, I live in skirts and dresses, and now these:

Outfit Inspiration: A Touch of Neon

Just a piece of neon, ok? I'm not trying to stir up the 90s for ya, but I think a bit-o-neon is kinda fun, paired with something that can help tone it down.

I've been wanting to incorporate a bright neon green/yellow t I scored on sale from J.Crew into an outfit for the last couple weeks.

And I remembered this little bit from the June issue of Lucky (pg. 88) in the Lucky How-To section about Gray being the new summer neutral (kudos to that - I love all grays).  So not really about the gray inspired my outfit, but how they paired it with a bit of neon!  See capris and heels in the below?  Love that little pop!

So I took that shirt I got from my near by J.Crew store (not avail online) and paired it with a slightly preppy gray and white stripped skirt, also on sale from in-store J.Crew (oh, and my jelly flats):

Are you bring any neon back in your life?

Beautiful Summer Wedding, Part 2

The second installment of my summer wedding posts - this one was amazing in every possible way.  I was a Bridesmaid in this  Pretty in Pink wedding and was so honored to be apart of such an extravagant celebration.

Before the actual wedding even got started - we had mani/pedis, ran a 5K all dressed in pink, splashed in a fountain post-jog and stayed in a lovely hotel for some major girl time.  It was an awesome fully packed weekend.

Just in case she forgot the words...
Check out that beautiful pleating on the bottom of her wedding dress - it was truly amazing

My fancy hair - I loved it!

Bridesmaids - Pretty in Pink, for sure:

Our flowers:

Painted pink nails and our shoes, classic shot:

Reception Centerpieces:

The most delish cake, and strawberry I've ever had:

The rest of the night was spent dancing - dancing like there was no tomorrow! I don't think I've ever danced so much!  The band was amazing - played everything from Journey to Lady Gaga, slow songs, funky songs, dancing songs.  I couldn't even drink because I never got a chance to sit down! :)  That's the best. If you need a great band in the Kansas City area: Michael Beers Band.
