Favorite Blogger Outfit: Veronika's Blushing Interview

Veronkia has instantly made me regret getting the orange version of this super Target dress.  She rocks the turquoise version with nude and brown accents. Check out her cute outfit and interview with Veronika of Veronika's Blushing.

Her Outfit Deets:
Dress- Target
Belt- J. Crew
Shoes- Max Studio @ Zappos.com
Cardigan- Zara
Bag- Tory Burch Reva Clutch

Now take a second to read a bit more about Miss Veronika...

What made you start blogging?
Veronika: During and after planning our wedding, I was getting a lot of emails and messages asking me about hair, makeup and my favorite products, which inspired me to want to create a place where I could talk about those things and connect with other women who shared the same passion for all things girly.  I also love to write and blogging was a great outlet for me to write in a more casual, personal way.

What is the best or your favorite thing that has come from blogging for you?
Veronika: It's the community!  I absolutely love that the fashion, beauty and wellness blogging community is such a positive place where women support and uplift each other.  I love that I can connect with other bloggers and my readers and feel like I have a massive circle of friends that I can always count on. I have even met some of my readers and other bloggers in real life and that has been a really positive experience for me.  Overall, the sense of community and support is what I love most, especially in a world where that kind of support can be hard to come by.

When you are not blogging, what are you doing?
Veronika: Working!  I work the typical 40 hour work week so Monday to Friday, that's my main focus.  My husband and I also work out 5 days a week taking bootcamp classes together, so we do that either before or after work which has been fun.  I also love to shop (obviously) and I oftentimes spend weekends browsing the stores or looking for great new home decor.  I also love spending time with family and friends and reading. I always say I wish I made more time to read because I love it. I have a stockpile of about 7 books from Amazon that I have yet to read. I also love going to see movies in the theater, even though theaters are kind of gross.

How would you describe your fashion style?
Veronika: Feminine.  I wear skirts and dresses 90% of the time and I love clothing with feminine touches---whether it's the fabric, a bow detail, lace or ruffles (though, I must say, ruffles have gotten a little too crazy in recent seasons).  Since I work full time, I have to be mindful of how I need to dress for my job, while still maintaining my own personal style.  Dresses are definitely my favorite go-to pieces and I don't mind investing in a beautiful dress---though I also love when I get a great deal on a dress at Target.  On weekends, I tend to be much more casual, especially when running errands. You'll find me wearing sundresses, shorts with off-the-shoulder tees and flip flops or skinny jeans with a loose, flowy top.

If you could only shop at one place for clothing for the rest of your life, where would it be and why (I think mine would be J.Crew)?
Veronika: This is a tough one for me because I like to shop around and I'm not particularly loyal to any one store---I tend to simply buy what I like. If I had to choose, I'd have to say Nordstrom.  I chose a department store because although most of my current clothing isn't from [Nordstrom], I do think they have enough of a variety to satisfy my needs (plus, their dress section---need I say more!?).  A close second would probably have to be Zara---I think that store has clothes that are always evolving and in line with current trends---but they also have lovely classic pieces you can mix  in with trendier ones.

*As a side note on this one---there is NO WAY I could give up my Lululemon!  I am obsessed with their workout gear and wear it everyday!  I even buy some of their tops to wear just casually, to run errands and around the house.

If you could only have one source for fashion/style inspiration, what would it be?
Veronika: Blogs. I was thinking about it the other day---and I feel I get the most inspiration from other women in the blogosphere.  Sure, catalogs, brand websites and magazines are great---but I love seeing how real women style things from their own closets and how they build their wardrobes. I'll oftentimes see a blogger wearing something I own styled in a way I never would have thought to try and I love that it encourages me to be a little more creative with my pairings. I subscribe to about 7 magazines, and none give me as much pleasure as blogs do as far as being a source for style inspiration. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE magazines, but I appreciate bloggers because they are just putting themselves out there saying : "this is me and here's what I'm wearing and how I styled it."  There's power in connecting with and relating to that individual that can't quite happen with magazines---there's no two way interaction with magazines like you can have with bloggers.

If you could trade closets with anyone else, who would it be?
Veronika: Can I pick like seven people!? LOL! I really love Emily's style form Cupcakes and Cashmere. I also love Chloe's style from The Chloe Conspiracy. They both have a unique way of pairing things that I really admire and aren't afraid to make some bold choices.  As far as celebrities go---right now I am obsessed with Kate Middleton.  In fact, my prediction is that she will influence designers to finally start making dresses that are flattering AND long enough to wear to work.  Maybe that's just wishful thinking, but I think her elegant style will influence the fashion world and show designers that even non-princesses need pretty, classy dresses to wear that don't show their bums when they bend over.

Thanks Veronika!

Favorite Blogger Outfit: See Jane Wear Hot Pink + Interview

I'm back on track!  It's been a crazy couple weeks that culminated in a fabulous vacay with some of my very favorite people.  More on that later.  Today, Favorite Blogger Outfit weekly feature is back, AND with an interview.

Even more exciting... today it's Anna Jane, of See Jane, rocking a fabulous neon stripe pink dress with a pop of yellow.  I immediately feel in love with this dress (stripes + neon = <3) and look the moment I saw it.  Even better, she scored this dress on Ebay.  I always forget to shop Ebay.  It's a good reminder to always check there first for an item or something similar, even if last season's or year's items, and save some bucks.

Now you should definitely take a sec to read a little bit more about sweet Anna Jane:

What made you become a blogger?  Specifically, a style/fashion blogger?
Anna Jane: Fashion and style have always been an interest of mine ever since I was a little kid.  However, I honestly started the blog on a complete whim.  I had read some others once in awhile but I started it on a random Saturday while I was home visiting my dad who was sick.  It became a great way to escape from my corporate job and to really embrace my interests.

What is the one thing you do or wear to make most outfits complete before leaving the house?
Anna Jane: These days, I don't feel fully dressed without my engagement ring (and now wedding band), but I especially feel naked without earrings.  I don't wear dangly ones or anything too obvious, but if I don't have a pair of studs in I feel very self-conscience, oddly enough!

If you could only have one source for fashion/style inspiration, what would it be?
Anna Jane: Definitely blogs.  The more I read them, the more I'm inspired by normal girls putting themselves out there for the sake of style.  I'm continually amazed by everyone's unique style and I feel like my own style has evolved thanks to personal style blogs!

Are you an online shopper or in-store kinda girl?  Why?
Anna Jane: I'm both, but these days I'm leaning towards online.  It's mostly due to the fact that I travel a lot for work and I don't have the time to stop into stores after work.  That way, I can order things online and it'll be waiting for me upon my return.  That being said, nothing beats going into a store, seeing and touching the clothes/accessories, so I'll always love "in-person" shopping for that reason.

Where is (are) your go-to shopping place(s) or site(s)?
Anna Jane: I love Gilt Groupe, Shopbop, and Zappos for online shopping.  For in-store, nothing beats J.Crew, H&M, and Nordstrom.

What is your biggest weakness when it comes to fashion?  Something you just can't say no too.  Mine is stripes. hah!
Anna Jane: I love stripes, too!  I honestly cannot resist stripes or polka dots.  I've always been a fan and I feel like they're always in style.

Anna Jane's Outfit Deets:
J Crew dress (via eBay)
Corey Lynn Calter belt (from a dress)
 unknown (old) necklace

Favorite Blogger Outfit: Summer Prep

Oooo, I love these oxfords, miss Rosa at Love at First Shop is rocking with her summer brights.  Adds an unexpected pop to this perfect summer outfit.  I've been keeping my eyes peeled for some oxfords myself, and wasn't in too big of a hurry to get some since summer was here and I thought these more for fall.  Oh no, Rosa proves not so.  I guess I'll be prioritizing the search for my own oxfords.

Favorite Blogger Outfit: Midi Love

I'm evolving this feature - whenever I can, by adding an interview with the favorite blogger outfit of the week!  So make sure to read my interview with Jentine below the photo!

The midi is everywhere this season.  I've already told you how much I love it (longer skirt lengths - yay!).  But one look at Miss Jentine from My Edit, and you'll love it too!  She rocks a thrifted bright purple midi skirt that I wish I could get my hands on!

 {Her outfit deets: Blouse, skirt, purse and white necklace - thrifted, Shoes - French Connection, Necklace - Banana Republic}

Interview with Jentine from My Edit:

Q: What is your process for picking out outfits like?
Jentine: I try to pick out an outfit in advance if I have somewhere to go. It saves time and the inevitable break-down when an outfit doesn't look quite as I planned. I definitely have my go to last minute outfits (that often involve my Gap slim jeans and brown boots...) but otherwise, I will plan in advance just by playing in my closet, having a glass of wine (optional) and trying stuff on. Being prepared cuts down on marital strife and general lateness...:)

Q: If you could only utilize one source to find fashion inspiration, what would it be?
Jentine: B. Jones Style. I always mention her but she can dress.

Q: How did you get into thrifting?  I really want to get started myself, but I'm a bit overwhelmed by it.  Any tips for beginners?
Jentine:  I grew up with second hand clothes because money was tight. I thrifted sporadically as I got older but it wasn't about until 2 years ago that I got... well, addicted. It is the best way to shop trends and be unique! Shameless self plug but check my thrift tips on my blog especially these one (here or here) if you are not sure where to start in the world of thrift.

Q: What is your favorite piece to wear? Why?
Jentine: I love a dress! It highlights the good stuff and hides the bad stuff. And I can find a plethora of them in the thrift store (ha... love using that word...plethora).

Q: Do you have a favorite outfit that you've worn? If so what and why?  If not, why not?
Jentine:  Picking a favourite outfit is like picking a favourite cat...

Thank you Jentine!

Favorite Blogger Outfit: Orange Envy

Dude. I'm totally jealous of Linda's, of Little Tin Soldier orangey-red skirt.  Ok, let's be honest, most of the time I'm pretty jealous of anything she wears - as it's always fashion forward with a classic spin.  But her vintage skirt has me lusting after the current J.Crew Dorrie Skirt that, at least in my size and in the modern red color, is on back-order.  I have it coming to me, but not until May 23rd. :(

Anyways, not only is Linda so well-dressed all the time, her photos give me the feeling that she just woke up and effortlessly threw together fabulous outfit morning after morning.

Her outfit deets:
merino boyfriend sweatshirt by j.crew

Favorite Blogger Outfit: Sweet Polka Dots

Just like I said last week about avoiding J.Crew on this shopping band, I've also been avoiding Anthroplogie - my other favorite place to shop.  But just like the Maritime dress, once this shopping band is over, I'm definitely checking out this Take Action dress I've seen on several cute bloggers.

And Kim from Anthroholic looks so stinkin' cute in this dress and the way she styled it up, that I can hardly wait to go check it out in person!  I love this polka dot dress layered over her lace top and pop of yellow in the shoes.  So perfectly cute.

Favorite Blogger Outfit {One Day Late}: Winterizing J.Crew Spring

Ok, I have a confession to make.  I have been avoiding J.Crew like the plague!  Not even a peak onto their site or a walk by the store.  I'm on a spending freeze, you know with this Remix Challenge. And J.Crew is my one biggest weakness.  If I were to even just "look", something would come over me, select, purchase, pay and it'd arrive without me even realizing I'd broken my rule!

So I'm almost done with this Remix Challenge, and I can see the light.  I can tell you the first thing I'm going to buy.  I'm literally counting the hours until I can place my order to get this fabulous J.Crew dress that YogaGirl (and one of the first J.Crew bloggers I started following a couple years ago) is not only looking adorable in, but fabulously winterized!!  Ah, love it...

Her outfit deets:
Old Navy Denim Jeggings, J. Crew Vintage Roadster Boots and Selby Purse, Silence and Noise Green Cocoon Sweater and ATL Plum Scarf

And the Dress:
Maritime Dress

Also...I have finally come up with a button/badge for any past or future bloggers featured in my weekly (or as close to weekly as humanly possible) Favorite Blogger Outfit that'd like to take and post on their blog!  This weekly feature was created to show my support to all the bloggers out there that give me inspiration!  I've gotten only positive feedback about this, so hope to continue to do it for a long time!

Here's is the new badge for all you that have been featured (you can find it on my side bar, too):

Favorite Blogger Outfit: Mad for Plaid

This week's favorite blogger outfit was easyyyy! I was immediately in love with Virginie's plaid, furry, maroon, and sherling outfit.  What a perfect winter-chic outfit!  Virginie is also participating in the Remix Challenge so many bloggers are doing at Virginie's Cinema.

I can't wait till this challenge is over for me, so I can recreate this look with my maroon gap skirt last seen here and my plaid button down last seen here.  But for now, I'll just stare at Virginie...

Favorite Blogger Outfit: Fun with Color

I stumbled upon The Daybook a few weeks ago and was instantly hooked.  And then when I saw Sydney's outfit of bright tights and fun mixture of color last week, I knew this was a girl after my own heart.  My love for tights is only beaten by colored tights!  and I love how she was bold with her skirt color, too.  It all makes for a fantastic outfit that I'm definitely going to have to copy.

I not only love Pamela's {of Ginger Girl} super fun teal shoes, but what she wore them with!  I love colored tights {almost more than anyone}, and then her bright fun skirt!  What a perfect outfit to brighten up a winter day.
